Hi, I am Pastor Ferrell Hardison. Let me ask you two questions:
- Have you given your life to Jesus Christ?
- Are you sure that if you die right now you will go to heaven?
IF NOT, please read carefully as I tell you how you can become a Christian:
- ADMIT YOUR SIN
You must understand that, just like me, just like Billy Graham, and just like every other person, you were born a sinner. You were born with a need that you can not meet. Only Jesus Christ can meet your need. Romans 2:23 reads, “ALL have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”
- ABANDON SELF-EFFORT
You must accept the fact that you can not save yourself by your own efforts. The Bible makes it very clear that it is not by any good works you may have done, but only by His mercy that are made right with God. (Titus 3:5 & Ephesians 2:8-9)
- ACKNOWLEDGE CHRIST’S PAYMENT
You must believe that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, died for your sins (Romans 5:8). This means that Jesus died in your place. Your sin debt has been paid by the blood of Jesus Christ. His blood cleanses us from all sin (I John 1:7).
- ACCEPT HIM AS YOUR SAVIOR
You must put your faith in Jesus Christ and in him alone. No one else can save you. The death of Christ does you no good until you receive Him by faith (John 14:6; Acts 4:12; Acts 16:31).
Say this PRAYER from your heart:
Dear God, I am a sinner, I’m lost, and I need to be saved. I know I can not save myself. So right now, once and for all, I trust you to save me. I welcome You. I receive You into my heart RIGHT NOW. Forgive all my sins and make me Your child. I give you my life and I will live for You each day as You give me strength.
If you will make this you heartfelt prayer, God WILL hear you and He WILL save you!
Jesus has promised that he will not turn away anyone who comes to Him in faith (John 6:37).It does not matter what you have done.
It does not matter what sin you may have committed in the past.
Pray this prayer NOW. DO NOT listen to the enemy as he tries to talk you out of making this most important decision in your life!!
NOW WHAT?
Okay, you’ve prayed. You’ve asked Jesus Christ to cleanse you and come into your heart. Here are your next steps:
- Call someone and tell them what you have done. Maybe a friend who has been praying for you. Call them. Give them the good news! If you don’t have anyone else you can tell, call ME! (919-735-5411, Ext. 302) If I am not in. leave a message with your phone number, and I will call you back to celebrate!
- Start reading your Bible. I recommend The Message or The New Living. These Bibles are written in way you can easily understand.
- Find a Bible-believing church and start attending. We would be delighted to have you attend our church, but that is not what is most important. Ask God to lead you to the church He wants you to attend. Get involved. Volunteer. Start spending time with people who will help you grow in your walk with Christ.
- Do NOT turn away from your old friends. It’s true that you might not be able to go to the old places you used to go, and you might not be able to do the things you used to do, BUT don’t do anything that would make your old friends get the idea that you think you’re better than them.
- Pray and read your Bible every day. Start with the book of John, then read Psalms and Proverbs. When you pray, simply talk to God the way you would talk to a friend.
