Connect Groups

Here at WC we are devoted to providing an environment where everyone feels welcomed within the context of a home group gathering.  We are committed to facilitating opportunities for YOU to building lasting relationships with others as we journey through life together.  We believe this happens best when we live our lives in the way that Jesus intended.

We believe that the ideal home group gathering is different for different people.  Our Connect Groups offer many options.  Some groups meet monthly, some bi-monthly and some gather weekly.  Our Connect Groups are divided into two categories.  One is Ministry Connect Groups and the other is Home Connect Groups.  Below is a definition of both:

Ministry Connect Groups
These groups are formed out of the various ministries within our church.  For instance, our choir is considered a Connect Group because they gather, not only to rehearse and minister on Sundays, but to pray for one another and support each during times of crisis.  The choir gathers for holidays, celebrations, to plan ministry opportunities, etc.  Another example is our Mpact Girls’ Club leadership team.  These ladies minister to the young girls of our church each Wednesday evening and at other times, but they also, like the choir, gather for prayer, support and celebration – they do life together.

Home Connect Groups
These groups of 4 to 6 families gather, as we said before, weekly, bi-monthly or monthly, based on what the group wants to do.  They are not necessarily connected through a particular ministry.

We stress FOUR BASIC COMPONENTS of a Connect Group gathering are:
1.  Welcome (Everyone connects while enjoying good food.)
2.  Worship (Everyone is encouraged to pray and worship within their comfort zone.)
3.  Word (Together we study a relevant and life-changing message based in God’s Word.)
4.  Works (We make strategic plans to practically live out what we have learned from the scriptures.) 

Our Connect Group Ministry is the best way for YOU to get plugged in with other people just like you.  In our Connect Groups you will discover community, fellowship, fun and a Bible Study that is relevant and applicable to your life.  It is our vision to become a church of small groups rather than a church with small groups.

When and Where?

Our Connect Groups usually take place in the homes of various members of our church family, or in a comfortable setting at one of our two worship venues.  Sometimes groups go out to eat together at a local restaurants, go bowling, go to a movie together, go to the park for a cookout, attend a sports event, and various other settings and activities.  These groups consist of men and women of all ages – both married and single.
