Encounter Student Ministries

Encounter Student Ministries is all about raising up the next generation of “world-changers” by helping them to discover and develop and deploy their creative talents and abilities.  To help them understand that above all things, God’s will is that they impact their world for His glory.  All students ages 13 thru college are invited to attend one of our fast paced interactive services.  While we use modern technology and multi-media, our goal is to create an environment and an experience where students can begin and grow in their relationship with Christ.

WHEN WE MEET:

Sunday Night Service (Carpenter’s House) 6:00pm – 8:00pm
Wednesday Night Small Groups (Carpenter’s House) 7:00pm – 8:00pm

Our weekly “Illuminate” services take place on Sunday evenings from 6:00 pm till 8:30 pm in the Carpenter’s House.  We encourage our youth to come early to fellowship, skate at the skate park, play arcade games, ping pong, pool, and even play PS2’s and our Nintendo Wii.

This service includes kickin’ music, videos, and small groups based on current grade level.  We have a coffee shop and snack bar of our own, so all who attend can get some fuel before the service.

Our Wednesday Night Small Groups are for any teenager in middle school or high school, and we will have our coffee shop open to purchase snacks and drinks before groups.

EVENTS

Every Fifth Friday of the year we host a  community youth outreach event here on the WC campus.  This is when youth groups from all over the area come together for food, fun, rock-it-out  music, awesome games, and fellowship.  Fifth Friday starts at 6:30pm and ends at 10:00pm.  At this event we have giveaways, play frisbee golf, football, basketball, Rockband,  Guitar Hero, and many other games.  We have  an arcade in the back with over 20 games and guess what, they are all free.  Concession stand items are available and youth leaders are encouraged to come and bring your group.  So join us every Fifth Friday.. All teens ages 13 through college are invited!!

“Pastor Jared’s TOP Seven” …. stuff all Students and Parents should know about:

Illuminate Service: Every Sunday Night we gather from 6pm – 8pm for fellowship, games, worship, and a relevant message in the Carpenter’s House. This service is for anyone ages 13-Highschool. You are invited to come and check this out.

Volunteer/Serve:  We are ALWAYS looking for more students who are in 11^th or 12^th grade to serve on Sundays and Wednesdays. If you are interested, stop by the Connect Center, we would love to meet you.

Wednesday Night Small Groups:  This is a small group ministry for middle school and high school students.  This takes place in the Carpenter’s House at 7pm.  More details will be available soon.

Summer Camp:  This year our annual camp is June 23rd-27^th.  The cost of this camp is $120.00 and it includes all meals.  More details will be available soon, but please save the dates – it’s gonna be awesome!

VALUE INPUT: I know you’re all swamped, but I want to hear your thoughts and ideas about our student ministry.  Share with me or any member of our youth ministry staff what’s on you’re mind.  I want to hear testimonies about success stories.  I want to hear and how we can better serve you and your family.  Anything you put in writing can be shared with our volunteer staff and become an on-going encouragement.  Got a powerful testimony?  BRING IT!

Fifth Friday: This is our community youth outreach. It is a time to hangout, play arcade games, basketball, disc golf, Basketball, hear a live worship band, receive giveaways. Fifth Friday will meet from 6:30pm-10pm on the Fifth Friday of each month at the WC campus.  The dates are: January 29, April 30, July 30, October 30, December 31.

NOTE TO PARENTS: We love our students very much, but as we all know, they can be forgetful.  We make many announcements over and over, but your child may forget to relay them to you.  PLEASE make sure I have your email address so I can send you the upcoming events and activities of EMS.  We do NOT want your child to miss at thing!!  Send your email address to: jared@whitleychurch.com.  One other thing, I want you to know that I LOVE YOUR CHILD.  If you ever have a concern of any kind, PLEASE contact me directly and  immediately.  THANK YOU!  It is an honor for me and my leadership team to serve your child in ministry!
